Curriculum Components Tailored to Families
Welcome to that National Training & Development Curriculum (NTDC). This curriculum is designed to help foster, kinship and adoptive families prepare for their parenting journey with a child who has experienced trauma, separation and loss. NTDC also offers families ongoing skill development through the Right-Time Training – training when you need it. To learn more about NTDC and its mission click here.
Self-Assessment
The self-assessment is a 58- item self-administered survey designed to help resource parents identify competencies, knowledge, characteristics, values and attitudes/beliefs that may impact the ability to effectively care for a child.
Classroom-Based Training
While NTDC classroom-based sessions are designed for local delivery, some resources can be accessed here. Families should confirm the correct training process with their local jurisdiction.
Right-Time Training
Right-Time Training is designed to provide resource parents with ongoing skill development and access to information on specific challenges that families may experience while caring for children in their homes.
Access the NTDC online learning platform
This platform gives families flexible access to e-learning courses, progress tracking, and certificates of completion. To help you begin, a Quick Start Guide is available with step-by-step instructions on registering for courses and tracking your progress.
