SRPMIC has effectually used the NTDC training curriculum for the Pre-Service and Maintenance (on-going) training of their foster parents. Due to the recent pandemic, SRPMIC hosted the training sessions on a virtual platform. As a result, SRPMIC learned to accommodate prospective families virtually and in-person. SRPMIC has certified facilitators that participated in the Train the Trainer with NTDC. SRPMIC is active in their recruitment efforts to recruit new prospective families which they train and strive to get licensed. SRPMIC is excited to share that they started their 8<sup>th<\/sup> NTDC Cohort in early February 2023 and anticipate having two additional NTDC training opportunities, throughout this year. When SRPMIC completed their pilot programming they had been utilizing 12 weeks to train their foster families. However, due to the effectiveness and plethora of curriculum topics, the Tribe has adjusted by hosting 8 weeks of Initial Licensing Training and 8 weeks for maintenance training. This was done in order to accommodate for additional training topics that were identified as being needed to license their foster families.\u00a0 SRPMIC shared that their foster families continue to provide positive feedback as many have expressed that the \u201c[NTDC] provides great information and is applicable to my biological kids, as well\u2026\u201d and \u201cExcellent\u201d as they received information gained from the curriculum and from the numerous resources available.\u00a0 The Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community also utilizes the NTDC for their Kinship families where itemprop=\"text\" ><h3><strong>Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians were trained in the National Training and Development Curriculum (NTDC) and are now currently using the NTDC American Indian Alaska Native Kinship themes to train their Kinship (relative) families so that they can license their kinship families. In the near future, the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians will continue to use the NTDC curriculum and make some changes in their approach. The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians are online learning for their relative families but are flexible for having in-person learning for older relatives that prefer the one on one.\u00a0 Many of the relatives have shared that they like having the flexibility to train as other types of trainings are set during the evening hours or weekends, this allows them to be with their children, families, and be active in the community.
